Proverbs 4:25 ~ Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you.
2 Corinthians 5:17 ~ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)
I have never been big on claiming any new year resolutions. I believe I literally just prayed throughout the year and waited to see God move and realize my life had suddenly been transformed in those areas that needed transformation. I ponder today Proverbs 4:25 when it says let your eyes look straight ahead. This encourages me that such wisdom from God reveals he was always looking ahead, and even more how he wanted his children to forget their past. Coming to Christ is truly laying our lives down for our true identity, but the process for us in the learning is that as the word says, “we are “new creations” in Christ Jesus.” God doesn’t state this in the word to remind himself that you are new under the blood, no, its to show you the price he paid to reconcile you to the eternal being you have always been under His righteousness.
Now that we are a new creation in Christ, then take heed to this, “old things have passed away, and new things are springing up!” We are made new for our future, not made new for our past!
Be encouraged today just as the new season approaches, we as children of God are just as transformable in every season, each one pushing us further in faith and helping us stand with an expectant heart and ready eyes to see the coming again of our Lord and Savior. Glory to God in the highest, as He also looked ahead from the Garden of Eden to the day Jesus would die upon the Cross for our sin, so it is to mirror your Father, and look full speed ahead in spirit and in truth.
